Maureen y yo acabamos de volver de Haití, dónde nosotros llevamos a un equipo de Leones para distribuir suministros de ayuda. Las lágrimas saltaron de nuestros ojos al ser testigos de las grandes necesidades de las personas, pero el compromiso de los Leones es satisfacer estas necesidades durante los próximos años. Nosotros también nos encontramos con los Leones locales para proponer las basas de un trabajo para la reconstrucción a largo plazo. A partir de ayer, nosotros ya hemos conseguido más de 1.5 millón de dólares para ayudarlos en este esfuerzo. Los esfuerzos a la ayuda de Leones para Haití, han hecho que se produzcan algunas entrevistas de los hechos en Nueva York y Chicago, alcanzando más de 1 millones de personas. Alrededor del mundo los Leones están siendo destacados en sus periódicos locales.
Yo estaré enviando una hoja informativa a todos los Leones la próxima semana. Gracias por alentar a los Leones de su área por apoyar a LCIF para este desastre. DEL PRESIDENTE DE LA FUNDACIÓN IPIP AL BRANDEL
Mauren y yo hemos vuelto ayer de Haití, y estamos impresionados de lo que están haciendo los Leones de Haití, tras la devastación. La calidad de vida está mejorando a diario para los 3.000 individuos viviendo en los tres “ciudades tiendas de campaña”. Estando entre los hombres, mujeres y niños en nuestras ciudades tienda de campaña, ha sido emocionante, nos impresionamos al ver la forma que ellos han organizado sus comunidades. También nos han informado que se está creando un Club de Leones nuevo en Haití Las necesidades serán grandes durante muchos años, y nuestros compañeros Leones están haciendo todo lo posible para servir a su comunidad. También hemos tenido la posibilidad de encontrarnos con el embajador de Estados Unidos en Haití, que ha producido una reunión productiva, para ver cómo podemos trabajar juntos. Nuestra experiencia en reconstruir después de otras calamidades, ha enseñado la importancia de establecer una colaboración.

El text en Inglés: Dear Members of the Board and LCIF Development Advisory Committee, Maureen and I have just returned from Haiti, where we lead a team of Lions to distribute relief supplies. It brought tears to our eyes to witness the great need of the people, but Lions are committed to meeting these needs for years to come. We also met with local Lions to lay the ground work for long-term reconstruction. As of yesterday we have more than US$1 million to help them in this effort. Lions’ relief efforts for Haiti have truly made “Lions in Sight”, including some interviews I’ve done in New York and stories in Chicago, reaching more than 1 million people. Around the world Lions are being featured in their local daily newspapers for their fundraising efforts or contribution to LCIF. To view some of these media clips,

Brandel Últimos textos recibido en Ingles : Dear Lion, Maureen and I have just returned from Haiti where we led a team of Lions and Leos to distribute relief supplies. It brought tears to our eyes to witness the despair of the people, but Lions are committed to meeting these needs in the days and years ahead. I'd like to first thank all of you for your tremendous generosity. Lions Hope for Haiti mobilized more than US$1.5 million. By the time you receive this message, I'm sure it will be even more. While in Haiti, we met with local Lions to discuss immediate needs and long-term reconstruction. They appointed a committee and are discussing long-term relief efforts. The Foundation is partnering with the Lions of Sweden to provide 200 large tents to house those who are now homeless as well as relief workers. Haitian Lions established three tent cities in the Port au Prince area, where they are focusing their immediate relief efforts. This weekend, Lions delivered additional relief supplies from the Dominican Republic. We have launched a Haiti section on the Lions Web site, with photos, video and other news. As we receive additional information, we will continue to add it to the Web site. If you haven't already done so, I ask you to consider making a donation to LCIF to support this disaster. Lions in Haiti appreciate your support and are anxious to serve. Zone Chairperson William Eliacin's initial desperation turned to hope and gratitude for the people of Haiti when he learned of the great outpouring of support from Lions around the world. He said, "We want to show the Lions and the Haitian people in general that the Lions Club is an extraordinary organization, that we are here and that our motto is, "We Serve". We serve our peers, we serve our brothers who are in need. That is why we are here. So I am appealing to you. You can count on us to achieve as much as we can with your contribution to help those who are in need." You
can donate in confidence to LCIF, as 100 percent of every donation will
go directly to Haiti relief. Through LCIF, Lions around the world are
helping those most in need. Dear Executive Officers, International Directors and Board Appointees, (send on the 27 of February, 2010) I am sure you were equally struck with emotion when you learned of the earthquake in Chile that happened earlier today. Many of you know firsthand how quickly the foundation acts after disaster. I have tried to call and sent messages to our two Past International Directors who live in Concepcion, but have not heard from them yet. LCIF staff and I will continue to try to contact them, as well as the District Governors and Council Chairperson of Multiple District T. Maureen and I returned from Haiti yesterday, and were amazed with what the Lions of Haiti are doing amidst the devastation. Quality of life is improved on a daily basis for over 3,000 individuals living in the three Lions tent cities. Being among these men, women and children in our tent cities was humbling, and we were impressed with the way they have already set up informal communities. We also learned that a new club is forming in Haiti. The needs will be great for many more years to come, and our fellow Lions are doing all that they can to serve their community. We also had a chance to meet with the United States Ambassador to Haiti, and had a productive meeting about how we can partner together. Our experience in rebuilding after other calamities has shown the importance of establishing partnerships. A message regarding our work in Haiti will be sent in the upcoming days in all languages to Lions worldwide, and you can continue to monitor updates on the web site. del desastre más atrás. Yo he intentado llamar y he enviado

en Concepción, pero no he tenido noticias todavía de ellos.
