Bruno is one of these very rare artisans that works all buy himself, keeping this secrets. He is one of my favourite artists and certainly extremely rare ceramic. All he has is the help of his elderly father.

What Bruno has done is recreate the Medieval Spanish Ceramic from the XII and XIII century. These are copies of original pieces from that period, many of the designs he has copied from old painting and books, as the original ceramic from that historical period, is extremely scarce.

One important thing is that this ceramic is ONLY decorative; it's not usable for food. These pieces have what we call in Spanish a "Craquelado", that consisted of forcing very small little cracks of the surface to give it a old look. Basically what they do is open the ovens before it cools down totally, and they take the pieces out and spray them with cool water. That makes the enamel on the surface of the piece have tiny crack which gives it a get look. But obviously if you do that, you can't use it for food after.

If you are thinking in ordering many pieces "Forget about it", I personally have to wait for months to get a few pieces. I actually have very few pieces in the shop.

As you can see he makes a very small variety of pieces, a few jars and roof tiles (He paints on real old ones, they look really great). But he does have a great variation of designs, of princesses, musician, jokers, and religious figures. If you have particular design you would like to be reproduced, he can do it for you, but don’t give him a fast time frame, OK.
